Johnson City is one of the Tri-Cities in the North east corner of Tennessee. The other two cities are Kingsport and Bristol. The city was once part of North Carolina in fact, and is close to the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains! It is also the home of the famous (or infamous depending on who you ask) soft drink, Mountain Dew!

Johnson City is on the cusp of the Cherokee forest and is close to an hours drive from the Watuage Lake. Watuage Lake is a beautiful place year round and is a wonderful place to spend time with the kids or your spouse during the Summer!

One of the best things to do in Johnson City is go to the Johnson City Brewing Company! They have some of the best beer in town and they have a family friendly atmosphere.

But what else is there to do in Johnson City, Bristol and Kingsport!? The Johnson City Community Theatre believe it or not, has the record for the longest continuous run of productions in the entire state of Tennessee! The theater group which founded the beautiful theater, formed in 1885 and since the year of 1912 it has put on at least 3 shows in a season. Education and theatre programs are offered at the theater to include, training in direction, design and acting!
